A new scientific paper by MUVP center in one of the most prestigious international journals in Paleontology

In a new and unique study published in one of the most respected international journals in the field of paleontology, Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology (JVP), the international research team led by Dr. Sanaa El-Sayed with the participation of Professor Hesham Sallam

introduced the oldest record of African Bagridae catfishes from Fayum Depression of Egypt. Also, the study gave new evidence from catfishes for a Marine Influence in the Late Eocene Birket Qarun Locality 2 (BQ-2) in Egypt, which provides a broader picture of the essence of life and the ancient climate (paleoecology) in the Fayum Depression around 37 million years ago.
