MUVP center receives a delegation from Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania

Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology center (MUVP) received a delegation from Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania.

Prof. Hesham Sallam, Founder of Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology center (MUVP), received on Monday 16 Oct 2020 a delegation from Banat University for Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. The visit has been within the framework of Erasmus Plus project of students and faculty mobility.

The delegation included Prof. Ioana Michaela Balan and Prof. Teodor Ioan Trasca from Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania. 

From Mansoura University, Prof. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Eidi, Coordinator of Erasmus Plus Project at Mansoura University, Prof. Sahar Abdel Rahman, DAAD research ambassador in Egypt and the head of the virology department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Muhammad Al-Rifai, Professor of Surgery, College of Medicine and Director of the International Relations Office, Dr. Basma Salama, Coordinator of the International Relations Office at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The visit included tours to a number of the latest discoveries of MUVP and the delegation has the opportunity to tour the center galleries to see the actual specimens and reconstructed casts of different Egyptian vertebrate fossils starting with the masterpiece of the center, Mansourasaurus dinosaur then other astonishing vertebrate fossils, such as other dinosaurs, whales, crocodiles, turtles, and fish; that lived in Egypt 100-20 million years ago.

At the end of the visit, The delegation affirmed his happiness in being present at one of the scientific edifices in Egypt and the Middle East which has a good reputation globally, excels in research and vertebrate paleontology and possesses distinct minds.
