
Belal Salem is the Curator of Fossil Reptiles and Birds at the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center and a PhD candidate in Biological Sciences at Ohio University, specializing in vertebrate paleontology.
His work at MUVP includes field exploration and excavation, fossil preparation and curation, specimen documentation, and the selection and study of material using surface scanning, computed tomography, comparative anatomy, and phylogenetic analysis. His research focuses on the anatomy, systematics, and paleobiogeography of fossil reptiles, particularly dinosaurs, crocodyliforms, and other archosaurs from the Cretaceous of Egypt and Africa.
