The Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center (MUVP) welcomed a visiting group from the University of Hamburg, led by Dr. Mohamed Khalifa, Head of the German Mission at the University of Hamburg and a specialist in Middle Eastern studies. The group was accompanied by Professor Sherif Badawy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Mansoura University, Ms. Shaza Samir, Tourism Coordinator at the University of Hamburg, along with a number of researchers interested in Middle Eastern culture and Egyptian civilization.
Professor Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University, received Professor Hesham Sallam and Dr. Shorouq Al-Ashqar, author of the book The Story of Egyptian Dinosaurs, the first Arabic-language book dedicated to dinosaurs. During the meeting, the Sallam Lab team presented a copy of the book, which was published as part of the Iqraa Scientific series and released at the Cairo International Book Fair 2026.
Professor Hesham Sallam received an academic group from the Slovak Republic during their visit to Mansoura University, accompanied by Professor Wael Awad, Agreement Coordinator.
The visit was conducted within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between Mansoura University and the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia. The visiting scholars included Dr. Andrej Brník, Dr. Ján Proner, Dr. Andrea Tománková, and Dr. Paulína Sivoňová.
As part of the young Egyptian paleontologists initiative of the Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center (MUVP), a group of students met with Professor Matt Friedman.
The meeting brought together Professor Friedman and students and trainees from Mansoura University in a productive scientific discussion, allowing Professor Friedman to engage with the ideas, perspectives, and research potential of the next generation of scientists.
Professor Tarek Ghalwash, Vice President of Mansoura University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, welcomed Professor Matt Friedman from the University of Michigan, USA, in the presence of Professor Hesham Sallam and members of the Sallam Lab team.
Discussions focused on advancing collaboration in vertebrate paleontology, fostering multidisciplinary research, and promoting the exchange of researchers and expertise.
