Dr. Heba El-desouky is an Associate Professor of Paleontology and Stratigraphy in the Department of Geology at Mansoura University. Her research adopts an interdisciplinary approach that integrates paleontology, stratigraphy, and paleoecology to advance the understanding of ancient marine ecosystems and their geological context. Her primary research focuses on the taxonomy and systematics of fossil invertebrates and their applications in paleoecological, paleogeographic, and biostratigraphic studies. She has a particular expertise in Paleozoic rugose and tabulate corals and Mesozoic–Cenozoic scleractinian corals, investigating their diversity, evolutionary history, and significance for reconstructing past environments and refining stratigraphic frameworks.
