On 11^th May 2019, Prof. Ashraf Abdel Basset, the President of Mansoura University, and Prof. Hesham Sallam, the director of Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology center (MUVP), have inaugurated the official opening of MUVP at the Faculty of Science in Mansoura University. The center is the first specialized center for vertebrate fossils in the Middle East.
