The Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center (MUVP) led an international study describing *Safroutus*, a newly discovered fossil mammal from Egypt’s Fayum Depression.
Based on remains recovered from Paleogene deposits,
the study provides new insights into the early evolution of African mammals, helping to clarify the origins and diversification of Afrotheria during a key stage in mammalian history.
