Mansourasaurus shahinae: A new dinosaur from Egypt sheds light on the evolution and biogeography of African dinosaurs

The Mansoura University Vertebrate Paleontology Center (MUVP) led a study describing *Mansourasaurus shahinae*, a new species of titanosaur dinosaur discovered in Egypt’s Western Desert.

Based on one of the most complete dinosaur skeletons ever found in Africa from the Late Cretaceous,

the study provides crucial insights into dinosaur evolution and biogeography, revealing connections between African and European dinosaur faunas shortly before the extinction of the dinosaurs.
